I’ve been using a Jimi wallet for the past two months. With out a doubt this is the budgeters wallet. The jimi, by design, only holds a limited amount of cash and credit cards, so if you are running the stackbacks system, or any other budget system, that is more than enough room. No room for extra credit cards, means less chance for overspending.
The wallet itself is small and meant to be stored in a front pocket. It holds only 4 credit cards (plus a business card or two). The original holds 3 bills on the inside, the new ‘X’ model holds a few more on the outside.
Holding only 4 cards and a few bills, what do I have in mine?
- bus pass
- personal debit card
- planned debit card
- library card
- driver’s license
- cash allowance for the week
Also, if you buy translucent model, your bus pass, or any other id you regularly have to pull out, will show through the plastic. Handy!
Best of all, it’s only $14.95.

This can be a problem when paying a cover charge, parking, leaving tips and certain markets and restaurants. I first fixed this problem by creating a cash allowance, but now I’ve streamlined the process with a cash allowance file. Read the rest of this entry »

Everyone is at a different point financially. For some, budgeting is a means to get more out of their hefty paychecks. For others, budgeting is a means to just get by. The complete setup of the stackbacks budget system requires a bit of start up money to create the checking account as well as time to actually make it to the bank. Some people need a different solution. Read the rest of this entry »

Standing in line at the grocery store, the clerk scans each item as it comes down the conveyer belt. You’ve been waiting propped up against the cart for 10 minutes. Shifting weight from leg to leg you’ve memorized the covers of the tabloids and contemplated the choices in easy access gift cards. Looking behind you, there’s nothing but expressions of frustration. Your items are scanned and the next person waits eagerly behind you ready to pounce as you swipe your card. Read the rest of this entry »

The most important part about this project is helping people gain control over their finances. I created this system and published it online so that others could benefit. However, sometimes it takes a more personal attention to make things happen. Read the rest of this entry »
